The 12 months of 2013

Merry Christmas!

2103...A year of "firsts" for our family

January

Our "baby" turned 8 this month! First time for our last baptism...First time not having anyone in Jr. Primary...Can't they stay little forever?

February

First time Curtis had the opportunity to baptize someone.  Caden asked his big brother to baptize him and his Dad to confirm him. First time Dad didn't do both for our kids, but such a neat experience for Curtis!

March

First time ever cleaning a toilet...totally kidding, of course not!  Don't I have the best husband ever? :)

April

First time Curtis slept right through a snow storm...in just a sleeping bag!
Curtis and Carter really wanted to sleep out one night in April. I warned them it would be too cold, they insisted and wouldn't listen and I decided to let the natural consequences take care of it. Carter came in after a hour, Curtis didn't and guess what? Not only was it cold, it also snowed about 2 inches during the night. Either Curtis is very stubborn, or a very deep sleeper.  Had to snap a picture when I saw this...didn't grab the camera in time to actually get the snow covered sleeping boy in the shot.

June

First Instagram and Facebook account for this girl! Lauren turned 14 this month, and after waiting FOREVER in her mind, was finally able to get her very own account.  If I really had it my way, she'd be waiting 14 more years...

May

First time Caden hiked the Y :)

July

First city championship for Carter's baseball team...

His team even got to be in the city's 24th of July parade. Also a first for him!

August

Chip's 2nd fishing trip to Alaska...

My first realization that last year's "once" in a lifetime experience, might just turn into an annual trip.

September

Homecoming...Curtis' first official high school date dance, he's not a big fan of dances - glad he went at least once.

October

Chip's first marathon. It was SO cool to watch him finish!

November

First Eagle Project in our family.  Not sure who's more excited it's done, Curtis or Chip and me!
He made 500 ornaments for the Christmas Box House's Project Elf.  He did a great job. :)

December

First time half of our family wasn't there to help cut down the tree!  We all found what we thought was THE tree, but Chip, Lauren and Carter just wanted to look a little longer.  Curtis, Cade and I stayed with our perfect tree and 20 minutes later the other three came down the mountain dragging a MORE perfect tree.  So no picture of the tree we actually came home with, cause I had the camera down with the original perfect tree.  :)

We hope your holiday season is filled with family, friends, and loved ones, and most of all the true spirit of Christmas.  We are especially grateful for our Savior, Jesus Christ, and all the happiness and peace His Gospel brings into our lives.

With love,
the Blair family, Chip, Michelle, Curtis, and Lauren
